Section01The four words

Basket · Quanto · Auto-Callable · Memory KO.

Each word in the product name describes a specific mechanic. Read together, they explain how the product behaves through its 12-month life.

Basket

Outcome linked to multiple stocks simultaneously. Determined by the worst performer (the "laggard"). One weak stock drags the outcome.

Quanto

Although AMD and Intel trade in USD, investment and settlement are entirely in MYR. No FX risk, no conversion.

Auto-Callable

The product automatically redeems early once both stocks have triggered KO — no action required.

Memory KO

Each stock's KO is tracked individually. Once a stock has crossed 102%, it is "remembered" — no need to prove itself again.

Section02Timeline

One year, twelve coupons, eleven KO checks.

Each month, the coupon is paid and the KO is checked individually for each stock. If both stocks have triggered KO (in same or different months), the product auto-redeems.

Section03Mechanics

Five steps from invest to settle.

01Invest

Lock in the trade.

RM 100,000 linked to AMD and Intel on NASDAQ. Strikes locked on trade date. Minimum RM 50,000. Settlement MYR.

02Coupon

RM 1,000 every month.

12% ÷ 12 = 1% per month × RM 100,000 = RM 1,000. Paid regardless of stock performance. Total over 12 months = RM 12,000.

03KO

Monthly Memory KO.

M1–M11: each stock checked individually against 102% of starting price. Once a stock trades at/above 102% it is "remembered." When both have triggered, the product auto-redeems.

04Final

Month 12 KI check.

If no KO has occurred, check the laggard. ≥ 73% → cash + 12 coupons. < 73% → physical delivery of laggard shares.

05Quanto

MYR throughout.

Investment, coupons, and settlement all in MYR. Bank hedges USD/MYR exposure on its side.

Section04Real numbers

Four scenarios on RM 100,000.

Based on 12% p.a. coupon (1% monthly) · 12-month tenor · KO 102% Memory · KI 73%.

ScenarioWhat happensCouponsPrincipalTotal
KO at Month 3Both stocks Memory-KO by M3RM 3,000 (3m)RM 100,000+3.0%
KO at Month 8Both stocks Memory-KO by M8RM 8,000 (8m)RM 100,000+8.0%

KI triggeredWorst stock 50% at M12RM 12,000 (12m)~RM 50,000 shares−38.0%

Key insight. Unlike Bullet EKI where the coupon is paid once upfront, this product pays RM 1,000 every month. Coupons are received in all scenarios. The only uncertainty is whether RM 100,000 principal comes back in cash or as shares.

Section05Versus FD

Why not just hold a fixed deposit?

Fixed Deposit · 12 months
3.5–4%

Guaranteed monthly interest, PIDM-protected. Principal always returned.

vs
Basket Quanto · 12 months
12%

RM 1,000 monthly on RM 100K — ~3× the FD rate. Principal at risk only if the worst stock closes below 73% at maturity.

Section06vs Bullet EKI

Basket Quanto versus Bullet EKI.

Both are Auto-Callable ELIs with KO/KI mechanics and Quanto settlement. Key differences are in when you get paid and how the KO is triggered.

Section07Edge & risks

Where Basket Quanto earns its place — and where it doesn't.

The edge

Monthly income.RM 1,000/month on RM 100,000 — steady, predictable, received regardless of KO/KI outcomes.
Memory KO is more favourable. In standard KO, both stocks must be above 102% same date. Memory KO tracks each stock's crossing independently — much higher chance of triggering.
Zero FX risk.AMD/Intel are USD stocks, but everything settles in MYR.
Lower KI at 73%.vs typical 80% — worst stock needs to fall 27% before physical settlement.
Familiar global tech.AMD and Intel are household names with high liquidity and strong coverage.
~3× FD yield.12% p.a. versus typical 3.5–4.0% FD — meaningful uplift for equity risk.

The trade-offs

Principal not protected. Can receive back significantly less than invested if KI triggers.
Physical settlement risk.Below 73% at M12 → shares of laggard. Those shares may fall further.
Worst-of basket risk.AMD could double, but if Intel collapses 40%, you are judged solely on Intel.
KO not guaranteed. If neither stock crosses 102%, you hold to M12.
12-month lock-in.Early exits incur unwinding costs.
Not PIDM protected.Backed by issuer credit.
Section08Suitability

Who this is for.

Good fit

Comfortable with equity risk; wants a monthly income stream.
Prefers steady cash flow over lump sum.
Familiar with AMD and Intel as businesses.
Can absorb potential principal loss.
Understands physical settlement.
Minimum RM 50,000 available.

Not suitable

Conservative or capital-preservation focused.
Cannot afford any principal loss.
Need guaranteed fixed income.
May need early access to funds.
Unfamiliar with NASDAQ tech stocks.
Unable to hold shares if delivered.
Section09Questions

Common questions answered.

What exactly is Memory KO?
In standard KO, both AMD and Intel must be above 102% on the exact same observation date. Memory KO tracks each stock independently — if AMD crosses 102% in Month 3, that is "remembered." When Intel crosses in Month 7, Memory KO triggers — both have been recorded. Significantly more favourable to investors.
What stocks are in the basket?
AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) and Intel Corporation, both on NASDAQ. Among the world's largest semiconductor companies. Reference prices set on trade date.
What if AMD does great but Intel crashes?
Outcome is determined entirely by the laggard. If Intel crashes 40% while AMD rises 30%, settlement is based on Intel at 60% of strike — physical delivery. AMD's strong performance provides no protection.
Is my coupon guaranteed every month?
Yes. The 1% monthly coupon is paid at end of each month regardless of stock performance, KO events, or market conditions. Even if KI triggers at maturity, all 12 coupons remain yours.
Why is this in MYR if AMD and Intel trade in USD?
The Quanto feature. The bank hedges the USD/MYR exposure on its side. You invest, receive coupons, and settle in MYR — all at pre-agreed FX terms.
What happens if neither stock crosses KO?
Coupons continue monthly through 12 months. At M12, if the worst stock is above 73% you receive RM 100,000 in cash. If below 73%, physical shares of the laggard instead.
What is the minimum investment?
MYR 50,000. Speak to your relationship manager for current pricing, live indicative coupon (10–14% p.a. range), and the exact KI barrier (68–78%) applicable to your trade date.

Structured investments are not fixed deposits and are not insured under PIDM. Physical settlement may occur — you may receive shares of the worst-performing stock instead of cash.
